APRS stations close to my airplane

How the airborne system works:

I. A Garmin GPSMap Model 196 GPS sends position data to a Kenwood TM-D700A Radio TM D700A Brochure

II. The Kenwood TM-D700A is equipped with internal APRS software and converts it into an APRS
datagram and forwards it to the radios internal TNC as packetized audio.

III. The radio transmits the packet on 144.39MHz FM

IV. Other radio stations n range hear the datagram and relay it to other radio stations further out, or relay over the internet via core servers.

V. Some stations use my airplane as a digital repeater and their packets get the advantage of the planes altitude

VI. My installation in this picture is before 337 install. The control panel is mounted
above the control column now. Park Rapids Avionics did the install and obtained the
field approvals from the FAA.

Home Packet Station Data:

I. An Yaesu 1500M 50watt 2m transceiver located here.

III. A Cushcraft Ringo vertical Antenna
IV. UIView APRS management and viewing software.
V. An IGATEway (internet to radio gateway) operated from commerical cable modem service at my home.
